Dr. Okju Yi, DO

Family Physician
2401 Northampton St, Ste 103, Easton, PA
Philosophy of Care My philosophy of care is holistic. In medicine, it is easy to see a patient merely as a disease, but I strive to treat patients as whole individuals. I always consider the backgrounds, culture, surroundings, and people that have shaped who they are today. This approach is one of the biggest reasons I chose family medicine. By listening and truly getting to know my patients, I can fully understand them, which allows me to provide the best care possible and achieve positive outcomes. The trust I build through these relationships is extremely meaningful and valuable to my practice because I believe it is the foundation of good care. Why I Entered Medicine I entered medicine with a passion to help others in need. I watched my mother endure great pain and suffering due to her medical condition until she met a group of excellent physicians and surgeons. They not only changed her life but also inspired me to dream of a future I had never imagined. Once she regained her physical function, she brought so much positive energy to our family and was grateful to provide for her two children independently. The influence these physicians had on my mother brought hope and fulfillment back into our lives. From this experience, I learned that a physician can positively impact many lives at once, not just one. I want to do the same for others and share those special moments with them. Education and Training I earned my Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. Prior to that, I completed my undergraduate studies at Franklin & Marshall College. I completed both my internship and residency in Family Medicine at Reading Hospital, which solidified my commitment to comprehensive, patient-centered care. Personal Interests My husband and I are new to the community and are huge foodies. We enjoy exploring different restaurants and trying new foods around town.

The worst experience I have had picking a doctor. It was my first time seeing her and I thought it would be a comprehensive visit. By the time I got through with her assistant, they told me I only had 5 minutes with the doctor. It was rushed, she barely listened, she tapped my knee and listened to my heart and said I should make another appointment for my concerns. 1) she got my prescription WRONG at the pharmacy 2) she billed the visit as a physical so now I have to wait a whole year to make an appointment with someone else for a REAL one 3) They canceled the follow up appointment I had for no reason! Not recommended.
