Olawale Adio-Oduola is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with training in treating patients with psychiatric disorders across the lifespan and practice settings, from hospitals to outpatient clinics. He has extensive experience working with psychiatric consultation services, Federal Qualified Health Centers, and private practices. His educational training was completed at Prairie View A&M and the University of Texas Health Science Center- Houston, respectively.
Olawale is particularly passionate about mental health with a perspective that focuses on creating an individualized, evidenced-based, and comprehensive approach that promotes quality of life and the best health outcomes. He is also a strong advocate for measures and policies that helps to bridge disparities and increase access to mental health/psychiatric services. Therefore, he involves himself as a member of local and state committees that serves mental health needs. In his leisure time, he enjoys life with family, music, and coaching a preschool soccer league.

What should a new client know about working with you?
The goal of treatment is to reach remission, a complete resolution of symptoms with absolute return to full function.

What is your typical process for working with clients?
Expect a link with intake forms which includes practice policies, screening tools, and consent forms.
An appointment is focused on diagnostic evaluation, treatment with psychotropic medications, and supportive psychotherapy among other evidence-based approaches as indicated.

Friendly, but strongly recommended medications multiple times after I had expressed my desire to not be on them, and made him aware I was also working with my PCP without the medications. He spewed a bunch of statistics about medications to try to persuade me to getting back on them. Also seemed to downplay my previous diagnosises. Just not the right fit.

Dr. Wale was very empathic and gave me the room to speak on my symptoms which was new for me. Many doctors I have seen ask yes or no questions then throw medicine my way.
