Olivia Frieling, CCC - SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist
TN
Hello! I'm Olivia. I became a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) in 2018. I have been interested in working with children from as early as I can remember. I grew up wanting to be an elementary school teacher but found speech-language pathology in my senior year of high school and immediately fell in love with the field. I love playing a role in empowering people to find their voice and walk alongside families to help their loved ones with communication and swallowing. I've worked in settings such as private practice (birth-5), pediatric outpatient hospital, and school. I completed a Certificate in Pediatric Dysphagia in August 2021, which focused on the assessment and treatment of children with feeding/swallowing disorders, especially young children. Much of my practice in my most recent position focused on supporting feeding/swallowing skills. I earned the ASHA ACE award twice in 2021. Earlier in 2023, I led an internal continuing education lecture on managing dysphagia in medically complex patients. During graduate school, I presented at ASHA regarding a single subject design study I completed with an adult in accent medication therapy. My clinical style is client-centered, functional, individualized/personalized, family-centric, routines-based, strengths-based and rooted in client-empowerment to create self-advocates.
