Getting to know Olufunmilayo Ajala
Funmi is a licensed Nurse Practitioner with experience in Psychiatric-Mental Health, providing care for ages 7 to 99. I am board-certified as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), PMHNP-BC by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). I am currently licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in the states of Georgia and Florida.I hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Chamberlain University Chicago and a master’s degree in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Walden University, where I am currently pursuing a doctorate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing. The wellness of my clients is my passion.
I provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and management of various disorders such as anxiety, insomnia, dissociative disorders, depression, trauma/stressor-related conditions, and crisis stabilization. I also offer behavioral interventions through individualized and group therapy to support a quick recovery. Services are available both via Telehealth and in-office.
I am in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Georgia Medicaid, Georgia Medicare, Aetna, United Healthcare (OSCAR), Magellan, ACPN, Ambetter, Wellcare, Peach State Healthcare Plan, and Cigna. I work with empathy alongside clients and families to connect with their needs. I believe in quality of life through a recovery-based care approach and medication treatment when needed.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Every client needs a seasoned, passionate, and well experienced provider, and that is what I offer to my clients. I have worked in Clinical environment for a decade before specializing in Psychiatric Nursing. My wealth of experience has a lot to offer for the needed pathway to recovery.
Initial visits include thorough evaluation and diagnosis of the client's condition to determine the best way to support recovery. Various diagnostic tools are also available to help client obtain optimal care.

What is your typical process for working with clients?
I often use cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my practice. As a Psychiatric nurse, I provide a welcoming and warm environment for my clients to connect to their needs. Complement the practice with outcome tools such as MDQ, GAD-7, PHQ-9 and many more to support diagnostic process. Where applicable, uses
pharmacogenomic testing to access how genetic profile may influence medication outcomes
I work with clients who may be struggling with different kind of disorders. During our initial sessions, we will deep dive into the issues at hand and collaborate to create a plan for addressing them in a way that helps you get your life back. Most of my clients see a gradual lifting of symptoms within the first month and sustained improvement thereafter
