Mayowa Omoyeni is a dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner. She earned her Master's in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and her Master's in Family Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington. She has experience treating individuals across the lifespan, including those suffering from anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and insomnia. Mayowa believes in treating the patient as a whole, considering mental, physical, environmental, and social factors. She is passionate about providing access to high-quality mental health care and promoting overall wellness.
In her spare time, Mayowa enjoys traveling, self-care, and spending time with family and friends.
What should a new client know about working with you?
My approach involves transparency, compassion, listening, goal-setting, healthy processing, and coping mechanisms. I set medication and therapy goals with the client and provide motivation, support, medication, and feedback when necessary. I believe in total medical freedom and diversity. Outside referral for ADHD testing may be recommended on a case-by-case basis.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Once an appointment is booked, please expect a call from the office to schedule a New Patient Evaluation to determine diagnoses (if any). After that determination, I will get a history, assess your symptoms, and then we would discuss a treatment plan that may or may not include medication, supplements, nutrition, psychotherapy, environmental changes, and/or lab work. Depending on the diagnosis and treatment, a 30 minute follow up appointment is usually within 2-4 weeks after the initial appointment.
