Originally from Israel, Dr. Shinar attended the University of California, Irvine, for his undergraduate degree. He pursued his doctoral psychology degree at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University. Dr. Shinar continued his psychological education with clinical training at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Schneider’s Children’s Hospital and Weill Cornell Medical College.
Patients visiting Dr. Shinar can receive a full range of psychological services. His areas of specialization include the use of cognitive behavior therapy for social phobia, fear of flying, panic attacks, generalized anxiety, and body-focused repetitive behaviors, such as nail biting.
