She started out wanting to be a therapist long ago, and her time in family medicine made it apparent that the needs of mental health are not being met. Facing the unmet needs of patients daily led Pamela to return to training to specialize in mental health. Her approach is open and inclusive, and she encourages patients to take active involvement and provide feedback for their care. Pamela believes education provides power and plays a vital role in achieving and maintaining mental health. Pamela's experience as a registered nurse and family nurse practitioner prior to specializing in psychiatric care equipped her with insights into many medical issues that can influence mental health. This background is especially helpful for patients experiencing physical symptoms related to their mental health or whose mental health is affected by physical illness. Outside of work, Pamela enjoys camping, hiking, and being outdoors with her family. She has an English Mastiff and two standard Poodles. She also enjoys cooking, gardening, and anything outdoors.
