Pamela Riley, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Nurse Practitioner (Psychiatry)
TN
I am a dual certified Nurse Practitioner dedicated in providing excellent care to my patients. I have 10 years as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I have worked in both Primary care and Urgent care. I am skilled in assessments, diagnosing, and developing treatment plans for my patients. In practice, I have managed patients' physical and mental well-being. While I love working as a FNP, I realized my true passion is taking care of patients' mental well-being. I feel this is just as important as our physical health, and I want to provide patients with the tools to succeed in their daily lives.

Getting to know Pamela Riley

I am a dual certified Nurse Practitioner dedicated in providing excellent care to my patients. I have 10 years as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I have worked in both Primary care and Urgent care. I am skilled in assessments, diagnosing, and developing treatment plans for my patients. In practice, I have managed patients' physical and mental well-being. While I love working as a FNP, I realized my true passion is taking care of patients' mental well-being. I feel this is just as important as our physical health, and I want to provide patients with the tools to succeed in their daily lives.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Choosing a mental health provider is a big step, and I want you to feel comfortable from the very beginning. I am a dual-certified Nurse Practitioner with 10 years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner in primary and urgent care. That background allows me to see the full picture — how your physical health, stress levels, lifestyle, and emotional well-being all connect. While I loved caring for patients in primary care, I realized that my heart is in mental health. I truly believe your mental well-being is just as important as your physical health. You deserve to feel balanced, motivated, and capable in your daily life — not just “getting by.” When you work with me, you can expect compassion, understanding, and zero judgment. I take the time to listen. My goal is to make sure you feel heard, supported, and involved in every decision about your care.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first visit is about understanding you — not just your symptoms. We’ll talk about what’s been going on, how it’s affecting your life, your medical history, stressors, and what you hope to improve. My background in family practice helps me look at both mental and physical factors that may be impacting how you feel. From there, we’ll create a plan together. This may include medication if appropriate, practical coping strategies, education, and supportive therapy. I always explain options clearly, including benefits and possible side effects, so you can make informed choices with confidence. Follow-up visits focus on checking in, adjusting the plan if needed, and making sure you’re actually feeling better — not just managing symptoms. My goal is to give you the tools, support, and guidance you need to feel more in control, more hopeful, and more like yourself again. If you’re ready to take that next step, I’m here to walk it with you.
