About Dr. Pantea Hashemi
Pantea Hashemi, MD, a board-certified dermatologist and founder of USI is delighted to share her medical and cosmetic expertise with the Sacramento community. She has over 10 years of experience in dermatology and trained in several prestigious institutes. Her research focus is early detection of skin cancers at the stage amenable to minimally invasive treatment. Thorough skin check is offered at the office visit with full education on different types of skin cancer and most appropriate way of treatments from field therapy to surgical excisions and recommendation on diet, lifestyle and skin care products. After completing a preliminary year of internal medicine at Harbor Hospital, a Johns Hopkins affiliate, she continued to pursue her dermatology residency at New York Medical College; where she was selected as the chief resident in her senior year. Her postgraduate training includes a fellowship in dermatopathology at the Ackerman Academy of Dermatopathology followed by a cutaneous oncology research fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, NY.

It seems I'm in the minority with having a less than ideal experience, so chances are you'll have a good appointment, but I felt unheard and brushed off. The doctor spent less than five minutes total with me, didn't ask much, and seemed in a hurry to leave the room. I didn't get a clear explanation as to what the diagnosis meant and no clear follow-up. Overall, she was nice, but I didn't get any answers, and I left feeling frustrated and overlooked.

I cannot thank Dr. Hashemi enough for the help I received during one of the most frustrating times in my life. My consultation with Dr. Hashemi was informative, and I received all the info I was looking for about the procedure I'm interested in. She is personable and listened to my questions. She did not try to rush me into booking the procedure like some other doctors I've had consultations with. Univ Skin Institute is also much more affordable than other doctors I've consulted with for the same procedure, but doesn't sacrifice any professionalism or quality.
