About Dr. Parvinder Khurana

Parvinder Sheena Khurana, MD, MRCP (UK), FACP is a board-certified physician and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Dr. Khurana earned her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from Christian Medical College, Ludhiana. She completed her residency training at George Washington University and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. After obtaining diverse training in India, England, and the United States, Dr. Khurana joined GW in 2000. Soon after joining, she became involved in medical student and resident education. She started a mentoring program, as well as a women’s health elective for internal medicine residents. In 2005, she became Clinic Director for the Internal Medicine Residency program and continues to work in that capacity. She is very involved in ambulatory curricular development and outpatient teaching for Internal Medicine residents and serves as an Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency program. In addition, she remains actively involved in medical student education. Dr. Khurana has several clinical and scholarly interests including medical education, preventive care, chronic disease management, and quality improvement. She is a strong believer in patient-centered medical care.
