Getting to know Dr. Pascal Stirnimann

Pascal Stirnimann, DNP, PMHNP BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who provides thoughtful, personalized care for adults experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, and other mental health concerns. He has particular experience treating mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, and complex or treatment-resistant depression. Pascal takes a collaborative, holistic, and evidence-based approach to psychiatric care. He believes effective treatment begins with understanding each patient as a whole person, including their symptoms, experiences, goals, lifestyle, relationships, and overall well-being. He earned his Master of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice from Columbia University and has experience providing psychiatric care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Pascal works closely with patients to develop individualized treatment plans that improve symptoms, functioning, and quality of life, while helping them feel informed and actively involved in their care.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with adults experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns, with particular experience treating depression, including treatment-resistant and bipolar depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, PTSD, and other mood-related conditions. I believe psychiatric care works best when patients feel heard, informed, and actively involved in their treatment. I enjoy working collaboratively with patients to better understand what they are experiencing, explore appropriate treatment options, and develop a plan that supports meaningful improvement in their daily lives. My approach combines evidence-based psychiatric care with consideration of the broader factors that can influence mental health and well-being. After you request an appointment, a member of our patient care team will contact you to confirm the appointment details, review insurance or payment information, and help ensure that your needs are a good fit for our practice.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Your first appointment is an opportunity for me to develop a thorough understanding of what you have been experiencing and what you would like to improve. We will discuss your current symptoms, mental health history, previous treatments and medications, lifestyle, relationships, and other factors that may be affecting your well-being. I then work with you to develop an individualized treatment plan. I use a shared decision-making approach, so I will explain my recommendations, discuss available options and their considerations, and involve you directly in decisions about your care. Treatment may include psychiatric medication management as well as supportive and behavioral strategies based on your individual needs. My goal is to help reduce symptoms while improving your overall functioning, quality of life, and long-term mental health.
