About Dr. Paskel Montessano

Dr. Paskell Montessano is a board certified, fellowship trained orthopedic spine surgeon who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of neck pain, back pain, and complex disorders of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. He has more than three decades of experience helping patients return to work, sport, and everyday life. He earned his Bachelor of Science from Siena College and his medical degree from New York Medical College. He completed a general surgery internship at Westchester Medical Center, a general surgery residency at Metropolitan Hospital, and an orthopedic surgery residency at St. Vincent Hospital and Medical Center. He then completed a dedicated spinal surgery fellowship at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. Montessano is a Diplomate of the American Board of Spine Surgery and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. His work has been recognized with the Volvo Award in Clinical Science and the Howmedica Spinal Fixator Grant. He treats herniated discs, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, spondylolisthesis, scoliosis and other spinal deformity, compression fractures, and failed prior spine surgery. His practice includes both conservative care and advanced options such as minimally invasive spine surgery, disc replacement, decompression, reconstruction, and kyphoplasty.
