This approach leads to safe and successful weight loss. Dr. McClendon, MD, graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Doctor of Medicine degree and is a Board-Certified Bariatric Medicine Physician (Weight Loss and Obesity Medicine Specialist/Bariatrician). With every telemedicine visit, you will be seen by Dr. McClendon, a double Board-Certified Bariatric Medicine Physician.
Weight management is more than diet and exercise; it involves your body's hormones, genetics, psychosocial factors, age, metabolism, medications, medical history, and behaviors.
An individualized approach targets not only your weight but also the reasons behind it, leading to successful and sustained weight loss without surgery.
While some doctors may call themselves weight loss experts, only Board-Certified Bariatric Medicine Physicians have rigorous education in Obesity Medicine, Weight-Related Conditions, and Metabolism.
Dr. McClendon has experience working in busy bariatric clinics alongside board-certified bariatric surgeons, serves as adjunct faculty for a bariatric surgery fellowship program, and is medical director of the Inova Medical Weight Loss Program.

Dr. McClendon's office was efficient in preparing for this first office. All forms were sent for completion via the patient portal. There were several email and text reminders during the week prior to the appointment. Dr. McClendon was prepared for the appointment and aware of my medical and weight management history.
