Dr. Patrick Hou, MD

Dr. Patrick Hou, MD

Psychosomatic Medicine Specialist
NY
I work with individuals ages 18+ to support their mental health through life’s challenges. I specialize in treatment for depression, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and trauma, as well as helping build skills to improve professionals' stress and burnout, relationship issues, and coping with medical illnesses. As a cancer survivor myself, I bring both clinical experience and personal understanding to my work, with a focus on cancer psychiatry, psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, the mind-body connection, and LGBT mental health. If we seem to be a good fit, I will describe how to book an initial consultation appointment, as well as send you intake forms to be completed before this appointment.

Getting to know Dr. Patrick Hou

What should a new client know about working with you?

I approach psychiatry with the belief that every person’s story matters. Our life experiences shape how we see the world, and understanding those experiences is key to providing meaningful care. I take time to get to know my clients so I can tailor treatment to their individual needs and goals. Please reach out to see how I can best help.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Please note that I require a free 15-minute introductory call so I can get a brief overview of your concerns and answer any questions about my practice. This phone call will not establish a doctor-patient relationship and the intention of this call is to answer general questions rather than offer specific medical advice. If we seem to be a good fit, I will describe how to book an initial consultation appointment, as well as send you intake forms to be completed before this appointment.
