About Paul Benites
Paul Benites is a licensed and certified physician assistant, a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, and the New York Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, and is board certified through the NCCPA.
Born and raised in New York City, Paul speaks fluent Spanish. He earned his Bachelor's in Physician Assistant Studies from St. John's University and completed his certificate at Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Center in 2001 before beginning his career. After a 10-year tenure in Emergency Medicine, Paul transitioned to Dermatology. He provides a wide range of dermatological care, including skin cancer screening and treatment, cosmetic dermatology, and surgical excisions. He has successfully treated both pediatric and adult patients of all skin types and concerns.
As a seasoned cosmetic specialist, Paul expertly performs many esthetic procedures such as Botox, fillers, spider vein and broken capillary treatment, laser hair removal, and tattoo removal. Paul prides himself on providing the highest quality of care for his patients.
When Paul finds time for relaxation, he can be found traveling with his wife and three kids, salsa dancing, and practicing martial arts in the form of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

The provider came in and spent less than five minutes with me. I felt like my concerns were dismissed; every time I tried to explain my symptoms, I was interrupted. Instead of listening, the provider seemed more interested in typing on the tablet, leading to incomplete subjective data collection No clear plan of care was given, just a vague suggestion to "monitor it" and come back.
On top of that, I left with no answers and felt more anxious than when I arrived. It didn’t feel like my health was taken seriously, and the lack of compassion and communication was disappointing. I just don't like to be rush when I'm addressing my health concerns. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PROVIDER.

After waiting more than an hour in the lobby to be seen, the visit felt very rushed. The assessment was not comprehensive enough to order creams that did not work, but made my condition worse. If the provider took his time to ask the necessary questions, perhaps he would have chosen a more effective treatment. Now I have to find a way to undo what was done.. I do not feel like this was patient-centered and I will not be returning.

I saw a PA in Dermatology; While I was in the examination room with him, I felt hurried - like he had to leave. As he explained the boil on my right ankle it was as though he was reciting from a book. I just didn't like the arrogance. Being well educated and informed is a plus so that the patient builds confidence in a medical provider, but a personable demeanor means a lot also.
In addition, the PA decided where to send my prescription. He said the local pharmacies may not have it. I think he should have had an assistant find out first if the medication is available in my area for sure. It should be my decision, for my convenience. I asked for one of the medications to be sent to my pharmacy in my neighborhood and as of this moment It's 7 hours later and the pharmacist still did not get the prescription that was supposed to be sent electronically.
