About Dr. Paul Cohen
Dr. Cohen is a board-certified Gastroenterologist practicing medicine for the last 20 years. He is continually named one of the best doctors in the New York Metro Area by Castle Connolly. Dr. Cohen’s focus is always on his patients, giving individualized attention, providing a friendly staff to ensure an easy visit, and taking the time to diagnose and treat cases ranging from the simplest to the most complex.
He earned his Doctor of Medicine from St. George's University School of Medicine and completed both his internship and residency at Kings County Hospital Center. Though he treats a wide variety of disorders, Dr. Cohen specializes in Acid Reflux Disease, Ulcer Disease, Colonic Problems ranging from colitis to Colon Cancer, and various Liver Diseases.
Dr. Cohen is also a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine who taught fellows, residents, and medical students for 18 years at SUNY Downstate in the fields of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He looks forward to welcoming you to his practice.

I have been a patient of Dr Paul Cohen for years. He is an excellent provider but the waiting time is unbelievable. I wish he would have patients come in and out at least 45 minutes. Having to see elderly patients waiting for hours to see him is heartbreaking but I guess we sit there for hours because you can’t take away the fact that he is great at what he does and his personality is awesome.

Other than the 3 hour wait, everything was great! Take a book or a project to complete. Dr. Cohen does not rush you when it is your time to see him. He listens and he is very thorough. Bright personality, experienced and knowledgeable in his field.

Reception staff is unprofessional and unapproachable, but on the other end of the spectrum, Dr. Cohen is a medical professional and an excellent communicator with a reassuring bedside manner; by the end of my appointment I was confident in his ability to provide the best care possible for my procedure. The wait was a little long but it was well worth it. I would do it all over again. The staff was friendly and professional. Dr Cohen was very patient and thorough. Excellent bedside matter. Seemed to really care and interested in getting to the bottom of my problem. Finally found a Dr who didn’t rush me out the office to get to the next patient. Which explains the long wait. He’s thorough. This was my first time seeing him. I was impressed. Will do a later review to update if my issue was cured.
