Dr. Kolodzik graduated from the University of Notre Dame, and attended the Wright State University School of Medicine. He then completed the WSU Integrated Residency in Emergency Medicine in 1987, serving as chief resident in his final year. He finished a Fellowship at the Miami Valley hospital in 1988, and received an MBA from the University of Dallas in 1996. He has served as clinical faculty at the Ohio State University School of Medicine and has been an Assistant Clinical Professor at Wright State University since 1989. He is Board Certified by The American College of Emergency Medicine and the American Board of Preventive Medicine. Dr Kolodzik served as Medical Director of Integrated Wellness Solutions, a national provider of employee wellness programs, between 2010 and 2016. Dr. Kolodzik is also Board Certified in Addiction Medicine. For the past five years, in addition to helping patients succeed at losing weight and reverse chronic disease, he has treated patients with drug, alcohol, and food addiction conditions. Dr. Kolodzik has had a passion for health and wellness for over 30 years. This was manifested initially as participation in athletics, and subsequently by pursuing personal fitness with a focus on diet and exercise. He believes that for most people a regimen of limiting carbohydrate intake and frequent physical activity are the keys to weight loss, wellness, and disease avoidance.
