Getting to know Dr. Paul Pastolero
Dr. Paul Pastolero is board-certified in the field of Psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Waterloo. He obtained his medical degree at Ross University School of Medicine and completed his Psychiatry residency at Central Michigan University, where he also served as the Chief Resident. He received an Excellence in Teaching with Humanism Award for his dedication not only to his patients but also to the education of his students and residents who learned under him.
Dr. Pastolero is published in the field of psychodermatology with contributions to The Primary Companion for CNS Disorders and Advances in Integrative Dermatology.
Prior to joining Salience, Dr. Pastolero's practice has been primarily with the underserved community in the greater Detroit area. He believes that mental health can affect anyone regardless of status and that every patient is unique in the challenges they are facing. He believes in the role of education on the illness combined with treatment to help empower the patient to achieve remission of symptoms. This is accomplished by staying up to date with the latest evidence-based practices.
In his free time, Dr. Pastolero enjoys working out, running, and participating in various sports activities. He loves his family and his pets. He is excited to call the North Dallas area his home but will be found cheering for his hometown Detroit Lions rather than the Cowboys.
