He completed both his Anesthesiology residency as well as Pain Management Fellowship at NYU Langone Medical Center where he served as Chief Resident. During his training, he has received honors including "Prelim Intern of the Year", "Resident of the Year", and "Pain Medicine Award" as voted by his colleagues. Dr. Shekane is an active member in many national pain societies and has published in peer reviewed medical journals as well as book chapters.
Dr. Shekane offers an evidence based approach to pain management and tailors his treatment plan to his patients rather than a "one size fits all" approach.
