About Dr. Payam Abrishami
Dr. Abrishami graduated with a Doctor of Medicine from Cornell University Medical College, New York Campus, in 2000. He completed his Internship in Internal Medicine at New York University, North Shore University Hospital. He then pursued his Dermatology Residency at the University of Minnesota, a department renowned for advanced Dermatologic Surgery. Following residency, he completed a highly competitive Fellowship in Dermatopathology at the University of Texas, Southwestern in Dallas. Dr. Abrishami is Board Certified in both Dermatology and Dermatopathology and practices both fields at advanced levels.
These two fields are truly inseparable and complementary. Being a sharp clinician allows him to be an excellent pathologist. He prides himself on issuing diagnoses that are relevant and communicated in clear language for other clinicians.
Teaching is a passion of Dr. Abrishami. He takes and teaches several courses each year to remain on the cutting edge of medical, surgical, cosmetic, and pathology advances. He began in 2005 as a full-time assistant professor at UCLA, serving as the Assistant Chief of Dermatopathology in the Departments of Pathology and Dermatology. He has remained on the clinical faculty at UCLA, where he supervises resident clinics, lectures regularly, and holds dermatopathology teaching sessions under a multi-headed microscope. Dr. Abrishami is also an active instructor at the UCLA-Harbor dermatology residency program, where he has lectured regularly for the past five years.
Since 2006, Dr. Abrishami has held annual medical board review courses for all California dermatology residents. He is well respected by his peers and has been invited to present courses for five consecutive years at the summer and winter American Academy of Dermatology conferences, where dermatologists from across the world attend.

We have seen Dr. Abrishami for at least 8 years. My 93 old father with skin cancer and multiple skin issues, my daughter for acne, and myself for various age related skin issues. Dr. Abrishami is that rare combination of skill and compassion. He is wonderful and a great listener. Every member of his staff is also very thorough and caring. You'll love this office.
