About Pedro Acosta Valdes
I am Pedro Pablo Acosta Valdes, APRN, an autonomous primary care provider at Family MI Center with over 30 years of experience in the medical field. My career began in Cuba, where I trained and practiced as a physician and specialized in Pediatrics. During those years, I gained extensive hands-on experience caring for patients across all stages of life, building a strong clinical foundation that continues to guide how I practice medicine today.
After continuing my professional journey in the United States, I became a certified Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), and I now practice autonomously in accordance with state regulations. This combination of physician training abroad and advanced practice in the U.S. allows me to provide well-rounded, practical, and effective care focused on real results.
I care for patients starting at age 5 through older adulthood, which has given me a broad and valuable perspective in managing health across the lifespan. My clinical focus includes hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, thyroid disorders, obesity, and preventive care, with an emphasis on early diagnosis and long-term disease control.
I believe in taking the time to truly listen to my patients. I focus on clear communication, thorough evaluations, and making sure every patient understands their condition and treatment plan. My goal is for patients to feel confident, supported, and actively involved in their care.
With decades of combined experience in Cuba and the United States, I bring a level of clinical depth and reliability that patients can trust. My commitment is simple: to provide consistent, high-quality care that helps my patients live healthier, longer lives.

I recently visited this doctor’s office, and overall, I had a very good experience. The staff at the front desk were polite, welcoming, and made the check-in process quick and easy. The waiting area was clean and comfortable, and I didn’t have to wait long to be seen.
The nurse who took my vitals was kind and professional, and the doctor was excellent. They took their time to listen to my concerns, explained everything clearly, and made sure I understood my treatment options before leaving. I felt genuinely cared for and not rushed at all.
The office also followed good safety and hygiene practices, and the overall environment felt calm and well-organized. Billing and insurance were handled smoothly with no surprises.
I would definitely recommend this office to anyone looking for a caring, knowledgeable, and efficient medical team.

Hands down has to be the best family practice I’ve ever seen in Miami. They have empathy and they really really care about their patients. They have demonstrated that to me. As someone in healthcare myself, I can tell you that this family practice goes above and beyond they helped me when my own Pcp couldn’t therefore I have officially switched. This practice is amazing.

Family MI Center ha superado todas mis expectativas. Desde el primer momento, el trato fue cálido, humano y muy profesional. Todo el equipo médico está realmente comprometido con la salud y el bienestar de sus pacientes. Se nota que trabajan con vocación y cariño, algo que hoy en día es difícil de encontrar.

Después de visitar varios centros médicos en Miami, finalmente encontré en Family MI Center un lugar donde me siento verdaderamente cuidado y escuchado. No es solo una clínica, es un espacio donde te tratan como familia.
El Dr Pedro se tomó el tiempo de explicarme todo, responder mis preguntas y asegurarse de que saliera con tranquilidad y confianza. Se nota el compromiso y la pasión con la que trabajan. Además, el personal administrativo siempre está dispuesto a ayudar con una sonrisa, algo que se agradece muchísimo.
Lo que más valoro es el ambiente acogedor y la eficiencia en todo el proceso, desde que entras hasta que sales. Aquí no eres un número más: eres una persona, y eso marca la diferencia.
