What should a new client know about working with you?

You can expect a respectful and collaborative experience. I understand that discussing mental health concerns can feel difficult, especially during a first appointment, so I work to create a space where you can speak openly without fear of judgment. Your care will be individualized rather than based on a one-size-fits-all approach. We will discuss your concerns, treatment goals, medical and mental health history, lifestyle, and any factors that may be affecting your well-being. I will explain treatment recommendations clearly, answer your questions, and involve you in decisions about your care. Meaningful progress takes time, honest communication, and ongoing collaboration. My role is to support you with clinical guidance, education, and practical strategies as we work toward improved emotional wellness and quality of life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our work begins with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. During the initial appointment, I will take time to understand your current symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, medications, sleep, daily functioning, relationships, stressors, and treatment goals. After the evaluation, we will discuss my clinical impressions and develop an individualized treatment plan together. Depending on your needs, the plan may include psychiatric medication management, patient education, wellness-focused strategies, coordination with other healthcare professionals, or recommendations for additional services. Follow-up visits focus on monitoring symptoms, reviewing progress, evaluating medication effectiveness and tolerability when applicable, and adjusting the treatment plan as needed. Throughout the process, I encourage questions and open communication so that your care continues to reflect your needs and goals.
