“I have had Dr.P for a couple months now and I can honestly say that she has your best interest when it comes to recommending medication’s. To give an example, I was prescribed a medication, but the side effect of headache headaches lasted longer than expected, and when I made that known, she immediately switched me to a better medication that treated the same symptoms I was having and now I don’t have any headache headachesI can honestly say that she has your best interest when it comes to recommending medication’s. Getting to know Peris Rodriguez

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) providing telehealth psychiatric care for adults across California and Utah. I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma-related conditions, and stress-related disorders, offering comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and evidence-based medication management. My approach is patient-centered, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I take time to understand each patient’s symptoms, history, and goals, and I clearly explain treatment options so patients feel informed and confident in their care. In addition to medication management when appropriate, I incorporate a holistic and integrative psychiatry approach, considering sleep, stress, lifestyle factors, and the mind–body connection. I work closely with therapists and other healthcare providers to support coordinated care. My goal is to help patients achieve symptom relief, emotional stability, and improved daily functioning through thoughtful, individualized psychiatric treatment delivered via secure telehealth.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients can expect a professional, supportive, and collaborative approach to care. I take time to listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and ensure you feel heard and understood. My style is patient-centered and trauma-informed, with a focus on clear communication so you understand your diagnosis, treatment options, and next steps. I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and evidence-based medication management when appropriate, using a holistic and integrative psychiatry approach that also considers sleep, stress, lifestyle factors, and overall well-being. Care is structured, goal-oriented, and tailored to your needs. My aim is to help you feel supported, informed, and confident as we work toward symptom relief, emotional stability, and improved daily functioning.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process begins with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation focused on understanding your symptoms, history, and treatment goals. During the initial visit, we review mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, sleep, and mood, along with medical history, current medications, and relevant lifestyle factors. Ongoing sessions focus on evidence-based medication management, symptom monitoring, and treatment adjustments as needed. I use a collaborative, patient-centered, and trauma-informed approach, incorporating supportive discussion and psychoeducation, but I do not provide traditional weekly psychotherapy. When appropriate, I collaborate with therapists and other providers to support coordinated care. Each session is structured, goal-oriented, and focused on improving emotional stability, functioning, and overall quality of life.

Overall incredible. Peris is a very kind, very insightful individual who has been able to meet my medication needs well while also providing a completely safe space.
I was nervous at first about going to a psychiatrist, but Dr. Rodriguez immediately made me feel comfortable and at ease. From the very first appointment, I could tell that she truly has my best interests at heart. She listens carefully, takes my concerns seriously, and creates a space where I feel safe being open and honest. That level of trust has made such a difference in my experience. One thing I really appreciate is how clearly she explains everything. She takes the time to walk me through how the medication works, what to expect, and why certain decisions are being made. She presents the information in a way that I can genuinely understand, which helps me feel informed and confident rather than overwhelmed. I never feel rushed, and she always welcomes questions. Overall, I am so grateful to have found Dr. Rodriguez. She is compassionate, knowledgeable, and truly supportive. I would highly recommend her to anyone who may be feeling hesitant about seeking psychiatric care.
