Peter A. Zahos, MD, FAANS, FACS, is a nationally recognized, board-certified neurosurgeon with more than three decades of experience treating complex spine and cranial conditions. Known for his meticulous surgical technique, thoughtful bedside manner, and commitment to evidence-based care, Dr. Zahos has earned a reputation as one of the region’s most trusted neurosurgical specialists. Dr. Zahos earned his Bachelor of Arts from Yale University before receiving his medical degree from The George Washington University School of Medicine. He completed his surgical internship, neurosurgery residency, and chief residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine / Montefiore Medical Center—one of the nation’s leading neurosurgical training programs. He later expanded his expertise through an observational fellowship in Functional Neurosurgery and Stereotactic Radiosurgery at UCLA. Over the past 30 years, Dr. Zahos has held leadership and attending positions at some of the country’s most respected hospitals and academic institutions, including Cleveland Clinic Florida, Geisinger Health System, UCSF, and JFK Medical Center. He has served as Chairman of Neurosurgery, Director of Brain Tumor Programs, and faculty at multiple medical schools. Today, Dr. Zahos continues to treat patients through his practice, Level One Neurosurgery, while also serving as Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at New York Medical College. Board-certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Zahos is also an inventor with multiple U.S. patents related to spinal implants, disc repair technologies, and neurosurgical biomaterials.
