About Peter Triporo
Peter Triporo, APRN, ACNP-BC, PMHNP-BC is a Nurse Practitioner with a specialty in HIV and Psychiatry. Peter has a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington and received board certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Peter graduated from the University of Texas at Rio Grande with a post-master’s certificate in psychiatric mental health (addiction and general psychiatry) because he saw patients in the LGBT community struggling with addiction and depression. He has worked in a variety of practice settings including cosmetics (Botox and Juvéderm), weight loss, pain management, HIV/PREP, primary care and trans-affirming care. Peter is especially proud of the fact that he was named “The Top Ten NP in America” by the Point of Care Network in 2017. In his free time, he enjoys unwinding with computer video games, working in his vegetable garden, and is the proud dad of two dachshunds (wiener dogs).

Hands down best visit I’ve had to a doctors office in a while. Peter is my NP, he took the time to listen, ask questions and was thorough. The entire staff was welcoming and kind. Happy to have found this office.

The pre paperwork before my appointment was clearly communicated, easy, and I received even a personal phone call reminder about my appointment (which I highly appreciate). I have a pretty high anxiety about doctors, but the nurse who first checked me in and took my vitals was quick to not only realize this and reassure me, but also to grab me a water and check in to make sure I was calming down.
My actual doctor, Peter Triporo was OUTSTANDING. He helped make me feel comfortable and helped adjust the appointment to exactly what I needed, even though walking in I wasn't sure what I needed most. He talked me through a lot of interesting information that I hadn't known, and was very open and honest with me about everything throughout the appointment. I will DEFINITELY be back to this office, and I feel very good to be in the hands of Dr. Triporo going forward!

Peter was awesome. I moved to Dallas for work about 6 months ago and needed a primary care provider down here and I am glad I met with Peter. It it is sometimes difficult to be open with a new provider about health concerns but with Peter it wasn’t. Highly recommend.

I have been seeing Peter for years as my PCP. He is always extremely thorough and probably the most comprehensive doctor that I have ever seen. He leaves no stone unturned in his consultations. On top of this he is the friendliest doctors I know. And that says a lot being that I have 3 within my immediate family!!! 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Peter was wonderful. Never have I met a provider like him. Listened, made eye contact, made me feel welcomed. Picked up on issues my olé provider missed. Very genuine and funny as heck! Trust he's going to extend and improve the quality of my life! Can't recommend him enough.

Peter Triporo is a wonderful primary care provider. He’s personable, caring, and deeply knowledgeable to help guide his gay patients through healthy living. It’s not often one finds a provider where sexual health is able to be discussed candidly and to get the depth of care needed. I highly recommend MD progressive care for anyone looking for an efficient, caring, and professional primary care experience.

I've been seeing Peter Triporo for many years now. Level headed and will to take the time to spend the time to make me feel comfortable with the needed medical decisions and options for care. Explains options in layman's terms, and not confusing medical jargon. I used to have a distrust of Doctors and the quality of care from the VA had kept me from seeking care for years. I finally bit the bullet and sought out a provider outside the VA and found Peter Triporo.
I've never had an unpleasant experience with Peter. Despite having VA health coverage I opted for a better standard of care and attentiveness that Peter provides. When he moved clinics I moved with him.
Since I've been under his care, I've made a marked improvement in my overall quality of life and his recommendations have encouraged me to form more healthier habits.
In comparison to my past experiences, his bedside manner is unparalleled. His down to earth, understanding and compassionate demeanor allows me to be comfortable and open with my concerns and needs.
I wish I could recommend Peter more, but I'm reaching my character limit in this review.

Peter is amazing! He is the sole reason that I am a patient at MD Progressive, as I followed him over from his previous office. He is great at what he does, and as long as he is at MD Progressive, I will be a continued patient.

Peter is a great NP! I have been seeing him for years on a referral from a former NP. He essentially found a blood disorder I never knew I had and possibly saved my life. I stayed with him during his transition from UPG to MD Progressive Care. Liking the smaller practice so far!
