Getting to know Phanessa Jean

As a psychiatric nurse practitioner with a Master's in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Stony Brook University, my goal is to support you in achieving emotional well-being through compassionate, evidence-based care. I strive to create a safe, respectful space where we can work collaboratively to understand your needs, explore treatment options, and move toward meaningful change together.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I’m a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and a deep commitment to comprehensive, patient-centered care. My approach is collaborative and respectful, aimed at helping you feel heard, understood, and empowered. I specialize in treating a range of mental health conditions including depression, anxiety disorders, trauma-related concerns, ADHD, and other mood disorders. During your first appointment, we’ll take the time to explore your current concerns, medical and mental health history, and any previous treatment experiences. This initial visit is a chance for us to get to know each other, discuss your goals, and begin developing a treatment plan that feels right for you—whether that includes medication, supportive therapy, or a combination of approaches. My goal is to ensure you feel supported, informed, and involved in every step of your care.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I believe in a holistic and personalized approach to mental health care. My process typically begins with a thorough diagnostic evaluation to understand your current symptoms, mental health history, lifestyle factors, and treatment goals. From there, we’ll work together to develop an individualized care plan that may include medication management, supportive therapy, lifestyle recommendations, or a combination of these. While I do not provide formal talk therapy, I integrate therapeutic principles into our sessions to ensure you feel supported, heard, and actively involved in your treatment. My goal is to create a space where we can openly discuss what’s working, what’s not, and adjust your care as needed. Follow-up sessions focus on monitoring progress, addressing concerns, and fine-tuning treatment to help you feel your best

Phanessa Jean was absolutely nothing short of wonderful. Kind, courteous, thoughtful, informative and respectful. Her approach to getting to know the patient aside from the reason they are seeing her is nothing short of superb, The definition of quality bedside manner and the standard of any Medical provider.
