Dr. Guthua enjoys taking part in individuals’ stories as they have overcome obstacles and become better equipped with tools that could help them better enjoy life. Dr. Guthua has experience working with children who have ADHD, Autism, and various mood disorders (e.g. anxiety, depression, etc.). As a clinician, Dr. Guthua has extensive experience conducting comprehensive (neuro)psychological and psychoeducational assessments on children, adolescents and adults who are experiencing difficulties associated with learning, behavior, emotions, and developmental delays. In therapy, Dr. Guthua uses a variety of approaches based on each individual’s needs, but always functions from a strengths-based perspective. The techniques she uses include Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-based CBT, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She also offers parent support sessions to families of young children.
