What should a new client know about working with you?

I consider the whole-person approach, not just symptoms, but how individual’s thoughts, relationships, environment, and biology interact. I’ll make decisions together with my patients by collaborative treatment planning where I bring medical and psychological expertise, and individuals bring their goals, values, and insight.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first session is part of a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation where I try to understand individual’s current concerns, their medical/family/mental health history and upbringing, their goals and formulate a collaborative treatment plan. I may ask structured questions to better understand individual’s symptoms and assess for conditions like depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, or others. If medication is part of the treatment then I explain medications risks, benefits, alternatives and monitoring of side effects. I never pressure patients into taking medication. The decision is always collaborative. If individauls mightl benefit from psychotherapy then I refer them to a psychotherapist. The frequency of follow-up visit depends on individual needs—it might be weekly, biweekly, or monthly
