Getting to know Priscilla Antwi

Ms. Priscilla Antwi is a board-certified psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner providing comprehensive, compassionate virtual care for individuals and families across all stages of life — from pregnancy and postpartum through childhood, adulthood, and older age. She specializes in mood and anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, OCD, psychotic disorders, trauma, and women’s mental health, including perinatal and postpartum support. Ms. Antwi also has a special focus on working with individuals on the autism spectrum and their families, offering care that is patient-centered, neurodiversity-affirming, and culturally responsive. Her approach is integrative and holistic, combining evidence-based psychiatry with lifestyle and wellness strategies that nurture the mind, body, and spirit. Known for her thorough, patient-centered style, Ms. Antwi takes time to truly listen, understand each person’s story, and uncover the root causes of distress. Treatment plans are collaborative and individualized, often incorporating medication management, mindfulness-based techniques, and supportive guidance for families and caregivers. With a passion for closing gaps in mental health care, especially among women, minorities, and underserved populations, Ms. Antwi strives to make quality psychiatric care accessible, affirming, and empowering. Her mission is to help every patient find balance, healing, and peace at every stage of life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe every person deserves compassionate, individualized psychiatric care that honors their story, culture, and lived experience. My approach is collaborative and rooted in openness, trust, and mutual respect. Together, we’ll take the time to understand not just your symptoms, but your whole self — your strengths, challenges, and goals. I integrate evidence-based treatment with a holistic understanding of mind, body, and spirit to create a plan that truly fits your life. You can expect a space where you feel seen, safe, and supported. My goal is to help you find balance, clarity, and confidence in your healing journey — wherever you are, and wherever you’re going. Why Did I Choose to Work in Mental Health? My path to psychiatry is both personal and professional. As a West African immigrant, a mother of two autistic boys, and someone who experienced significant postpartum complications without receiving the help I needed, I saw firsthand how deeply culture, identity, and access shape our mental health journeys. Those experiences inspired me to create a practice where every patient — regardless of background — feels seen, heard, and supported. I chose this field to bridge gaps in care, especially for women, minorities, and families navigating autism and postpartum challenges. Working in mental health allows me to combine science with compassion, providing integrative, culturally responsive care that helps people heal fully — not just manage symptoms. It’s more than a profession for me; it’s a calling rooted in empathy, advocacy, and hope.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process is centered on connection and collaboration. From our very first conversation, my goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable sharing your story openly — without fear of judgment. During our initial session, we’ll take time to explore what’s bringing you in, your personal history, and what wellness looks like for you. I believe understanding the whole person — not just the symptoms — is the foundation of effective care. Together, we’ll develop an individualized treatment plan that may include therapy-informed strategies, medication management, and holistic approaches to support your emotional and physical well-being. I check in regularly, adjusting your plan as your needs evolve. Throughout our work, you can expect compassion, curiosity, and partnership. My goal is to help you feel supported, empowered, and confident on your path toward healing — at a pace that feels right for you.
