About Dr. Priya Padmanabhan

Hi there, I am Priya, your Dietitian and Lifestyle Coach. I derive my professional purpose from helping my patients connect the dots between knowing and integrating lifestyle practices in the areas of eating better, moving better, sleeping better, and managing stress better so that you can experience improved health outcomes. I collaborate with you to individualize evidence-based lifestyle interventions that work for managing various chronic conditions. After overcoming my own challenges with a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, I realized that willpower alone doesn't work. The key is to make "autopilot habits" so that you enjoy the process and can keep it up long term. Before founding healthabitsrx, an insurance-based private practice, I worked with primary care, family medicine clinics, and hospitals. I have also coached clients at CrossFit Dagda and ThriveWell Cancer Foundation. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition from The University of Alabama, a BS in Dietetics, and a PhD from the University of Texas at San Antonio. I am a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist and a Certified Health & Wellness Coach through Wellcoaches. I have a teenager who keeps me hoppin’, a veggie garden that needs weeding, and a training shoe that I try to put on at least twice a week. When you work with me, you are a UNIQUE whole individual—you are more than just plugging your information into a calculator. Making the transition from your current lifestyle to a much healthier one can be hard. I am there to work with you every step of the way to help you get past your obstacles and build a lifestyle that you can maintain and that helps you work toward your personal health goals. She really listens and never pushes you to do anything you don’t like. Her advice actually works, I was able to bring my numbers and blood work back to normal because of her guidance.
