About Dr. Rachel Cymerman
Dr. Rachel Cymerman was born and raised on Long Island. She attended the University of Pennsylvania for college where she graduated summa cum laude as a member of the esteemed Benjamin Franklin Scholars Honor Society. Dr. Cymerman attended medical school at NYU School of Medicine where she graduated with Alpha Omega Alpha Honors and received a Women in Cancer Research award for her melanoma research.
Dr. Cymerman performed an internal medicine internship at NYU and continued on at NYU to complete her dermatology residency. She was selected as chief resident and received a Rising Derm Star award two years in a row during that time. In addition to her role at Borealis Dermatology, Dr. Cymerman is a voluntary faculty member at NYU where she enjoys teaching residents dermatology every week. Her clinical interests include complex medical dermatology, women’s health, hair loss, and cosmetic dermatology.

Very nice office and Dr. Cymmerman was very nice. The medical assistants could have been friendlier, already an awkward experience when needing to get undressed it would help if they weren’t so visibly annoyed at being there with you. The MA’s are quick to shove a camera in your face to say they need a picture for your chart without the choice of opting out.

Dr.Cymerman was courteous, and caring with great bed side manner. She listened to my concerns and made sure we addressed everything. She was very knowledgeable and made sure to answer all the questions I had. I would def recommend her.

I’ve been to a long list of dermatologists over the course of my life and Dr. Cymerman is by far the best. She actually took the time to listen to my concerns when others haven’t. She immediately recognized that I have a scarring type of hair loss and that I needed a biopsy. I credit her with saving my hair. She is kind, compassionate and took the time to talk things through with me. I never felt rushed. The office is clean and I was seen at my exact appointment time. Highly recommend for all of your dermatological needs!

Very modern and clean office. I was seen on time and reception staff was very friendly along with medical assistant . I found physician super informative, and proactive in dealing with my issue so I was able to get a resolution. Practitioner listened, and made sure all my skin issues were addressed. And I was comfortable during a quick office procedure which I appreciated.

The experience is very clunky for new patients-- between Zocdoc sending you a form and then them sending you a form asking for ID & insurance information, it was pretty annoying considering that I STILL had to sign more forms before I was allowed to see the doctor. Know that you need to sign a HIPAA form, which isn't emailed or sent to you through Zocdoc, or the initial patient portal sign up stuff they send you. Overall a very confusing process to do online.
Outside of the clunky first signup forms, the doctor was very kind and immediately prescribed me a topical cream that has saved my skin. If you have the patience to navigate the multi-form-ID/insurance dance, it is worth it!
