About Rachel Rankin
Rachel graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in molecular, cellular, and developmental biology in 2016. After working for several years as a medical assistant, Rachel developed a passion for dermatology and all things skin related. Rachel was accepted into an entry level MSN-FNP program, earning 1 of 20 spots among 300 other applicants. After obtaining her nursing license she began working in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in which she worked with complex wound care including diabetic foot ulcers and pressure wounds. Rachel completed an intensive internship in dermatology her senior year of graduate school in the farmlands of California, treating skin cancer, rashes, hair loss, acne, and a variety of complex dermatological conditions daily. She moved to New York to be closer to family and is excited to be part of the team.

The appointment with Rachel Zankin went well up until she biopsied a mole on my leg. The assistant treated the wound with Vaseline and a 1" wide bandaid. Because of the local anesthetic, I didn't notice the issue until my pant leg was soaked through. It took several layers of gauze to contain the bleeding for the next few hours before I was able to go home, and that is after the approx. 2 oz I lost in the 20 minutes after I left the office.
The office as a whole needs to have better standards of wound care. Either cauterize the incision or apply better bandaging.

Such a kind and lovely lady , I came in regarding a cyst and she handled it right away . I even had other concerns that were separate from the cyst and we dealt with those too the same day!
