About Rachel Westman
Rachel began her healthcare journey as a nursing aide during college and absolutely loved working with patients and families. She found that stepping into someone’s life during their lowest moments and making a difference in their experience was an incredible privilege. She continued her education at Middle Tennessee State University, earning her bachelor's degree, then pursued a Master’s in Adult Gerontology Nursing from George Washington University. After graduating, Rachel had the rewarding opportunity to care for active duty and retired sailors in the US Navy. Now, as a nurse practitioner, she is passionate about making a positive impact in her patients’ lives by ensuring and delivering the best care possible.
As the daughter of a service member, Rachel moved frequently but calls Tennessee “home.” Having relocated to the Pacific Northwest, she enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, walking, and bicycling many of the trails in the Portland area, as well as exploring new places with her husband and son. She also likes to read, practice yoga, and attempt gardening. Rachel values maintaining social connections by regularly meeting family and friends for coffee or exploring the amazing Portland food scene. In her downtime, she can be found enjoying quirky British gardening shows with her husband or furthering her education by listening to hour-long lectures about dinosaurs from her son.
