I am a Dual Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) licensed to practice in Florida, with a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of North Florida and a Bachelor’s degree from Florida Atlantic University. As a doctoral-prepared nurse practitioner with over thirteen years of experience, I am empowered to take a holistic and individualized approach to every client, knowing that mental health can affect multiple areas of one’s life. So, if you are feeling overwhelmed and seeking to live a well-balanced life, you have come to the right place.
I focus on treating mood disorders, trauma, psychotic disorders, substance abuse, and chronic mental illness through psychiatric assessment, medication management, and brief psychotherapeutic intervention for pre-teens, teens, adults, and older adults.
I believe in creating an individualized care plan that values client involvement, inter-professional collaboration, and evidence-based practice. My goal for my clients is to feel empowered to treat their illnesses through supportive education in a stigma-free environment.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Your first session will probably involve your therapist asking you many questions about yourself, how you cope, and your symptoms (it's an interview).
I will use that information to see the best treatment plan.
I believe in the dual treatment plan to include medication management and psychotherapy
What is your typical process for working with clients?
The typical process is collaborative and tailored to individual needs. Each stage is crucial for building a therapeutic relationship, understanding the client's unique experiences, and providing adequate support for mental health challenges. My goal is to empower clients to manage their mental health, develop coping strategies, and improve their quality of life.
