About Raikija Allen
Raikija (Rah-E-key-jah) Allen is a board-certified Physician Assistant. A southern gal, Raikija has roots in Maryland and has lived in North Carolina for the greater part of her life, recently relocating to NYC. Raikija is a Tar Heel alumna, graduating from one of the original “Public Ivies”, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Hispanic Linguistics while following the Pre-PA track.
Raikija has been passionate about serving in the field of Dermatology since being a senior in high school. She has over a decade of experience in the beauty industry as a Hairstylist, which originally sparked her interest in Dermatology. Raikija earned her Masters of Medical Science from the prestigious Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Dept. of Physician Assistant Studies where she completed rigorous didactic coursework and clinical rotations through a variety of medical and surgical specialties including Dermatology. Raikija continues to build upon her skillset as a provider at TDS through our training program and as a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA) pursuing Diplomate Fellow status. Raikija believes that connecting with others is one of her greatest strengths. She prides herself in individualized, inclusive, and compassionate care and desires to work collaboratively with patients for the best outcomes.
Raikija is a travel enthusiast– whether solo or in good company. One of her favorite destinations to date is Florence, Italy. She is a lover of music and enjoys most genres– old and new. Indulging in the vast world of fragrance is also one of her favorite pastimes.

Had an appointment at 12:30 & came around 12:10 to fill out my paper work… I didn’t speak to anyone until 1:15. Once I was seen, the PA told me it was going to take awhile to process my new medication (which i knew it would which is why i scheduled my lotted time at 12:30, with a work meeting at 2 - knew there was no way this should take THAT long, my previous appointments were only 30 minutes), I had to inevitably reschedule... At that point, I was so frustrated my time was not taken seriously (especially after paying a copay). The front desk woman was super apologetic and attentive, and it’s because of her I will come back -

I presented a specific concern to this provider in two consecutive appointments and both times my concerns were dismissed. She just gives you the run around and says she’ll handle it “the next time”. Medical gaslighting plus an extremely long wait time certainly creates a frustrating experience.

The receptionist was helpful and friendly. The wait time was less than 30mins. My questions and concerns were answered by Ms Allen. I received the treatment and prescriptions I needed.

This was an outstanding experience. From the front desk staff, to the medical assistant especially Dr. Allen, the customer service was exceptional.
Dr. Allen listened to my concerns and gave me choices on how to address.
I left the office feeling much better and heard.
I would highly recommend Dr. Allen to anyone needing a Dermatologist.

I will never come here again and it’s a shame. The doctor herself is wonderful but the office is run horrendously. They did not send my prescription and I waited and hour at the pharmacy with the prescription unsent. I called their call center multiple times and was promised someone would contact the office and get it sent. I walked all the way back to the office while on hold. This could be a great place in a neighborhood that sorely needs competent medical care but communication is impossible. They don’t have any direct number to the office. You can call them and not be answered even while you’re in their office and no one is on the phone but remain on hold. My level of frustration at this point is tremendous. I’m finally back at the pharmacy and it’s closed on the day that I fly out of the country. If you have a minor need and communication or when you actually get your prescription and time is no issue then it may be fine for you. If the issue is serious stay away.
