About Dr. Rande Lazar
Rande H. Lazar, M.D., has established himself throughout his career as an innovator in the medical field and a philanthropist within his community. Dr. Lazar earned his medical degree from Universidad Aut?noma de Guadalajara Facultad de Medicina Tabasco and completed his undergraduate studies at City University of New York, Brooklyn College. He further honed his surgical skills through residencies at North Shore University Hospital and the Cleveland Clinic.
When Dr. Lazar arrived in Memphis, he was the only fellowship-trained Pediatric Otolaryngologist in the Mid-South. At LeBonheur Children's Medical Center, he pioneered upper airway reconstruction procedures in the region, including cricoid splits and laryngotracheal reconstruction. Additionally, Dr. Lazar utilized state-of-the-art equipment such as CO2 and KTP lasers for airway treatments. He and his group adopted endonasal sinus surgery for pediatric patients and were the first in the nation to publish on this procedure in a peer-reviewed journal. Dr. Lazar's work has stood the test of time, as these procedures continue to be performed much as he described and implemented them in the Mid-South.
