About Dr. Raymond Kim
Dr. Raymond Kim is a fellowship-trained orthopedic hand and upper extremity surgeon at Northwell Health Lenox Hill Hospital and an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. Dr. Kim graduated from the University of Notre Dame and earned his medical degree from Penn State College of Medicine, where he was inducted into both the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Medical Honor Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center before pursuing advanced fellowship training in complex hand and upper extremity surgery at NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital.
Throughout his training and career, Dr. Kim has been recognized for both clinical excellence and compassionate patient care. During residency, he received the Lisa M. Pellegrini Humanitarian Orthopaedist Award, which recognizes physicians who exemplify caring for the person rather than simply treating the patient. More recently, he received the Daniel C. Riordan Award from the American Foundation for Surgery of the Hand, a national honor named for a former president of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
As an academic surgeon, Dr. Kim has published extensively on hand and upper extremity surgery, with research published in leading orthopedic journals, including the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, the Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the American Journal of Sports Medicine. He is an active member of both the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and the American Association for Hand Surgery.
