I came in for an IUD removal and Dr. Arthur was so kind, patient, and gentle throughout the entire appointment. She took her time, explained everything clearly, and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. She was extremely professional while also being very warm and reassuring, which made a huge difference.

Dr. Afiba Arthur graduated from Meharry Medical College and proceeded to complete her internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Loma Linda University medical center. She later completed a three-year fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery/Urogynecology at University of California, Irvine. She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She was in private practice after her OB/GYN residency in Northern California before moving to Southern California to pursue a fellowship training in Urogynecology. As a urogynecologist she treats female pelvic disorders such as urinary incontinency, problems with emptying the bladder, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, bladder pain, abnormal uterine bleeding, uterine fibroids, menopausal symptoms and vulvar disorders. In her spare time, she volunteers her time to help the less fortunate. She also enjoys traveling.

Very disappointed with my experience. I was asked to return quickly for a biopsy and took time off work for two separate morning appointments. The first time, I arrived after receiving a missed call just minutes before, only to be told they didn’t have the necessary materials. I remained understanding and rescheduled. Two weeks later, I returned again, took time off work, checked in, and paid my copay—only to be told they still could not perform the biopsy due to missing supplies. I stayed patient and respectfully told them to reschedule with me when they are 100% sure to have the necessary equipment-they never did. While I understand mistakes happen, the repeated cancellations when already at the front desk not even ahead of time and lack of follow-up show a clear lack of respect for my time. This office doesn’t seem to really care of how that can create uncertainty for a patient. I cannot recommend this office due to poor reliability and the lack of respect for my time- twice.

Overall the appointment was adequate. I am still waiting for a script and my telemedicine check up was a week ago. My initial appointment was in January, so I have not resolved my health concerns in the slightest. I’ve had more attentive and kind gynecology experiences in my life.

Everyone was very nice. The office was easy to locate and access. I was disappointed, however, that all the work I did online with Zocdoc to provide my signature on documents and health history was not transferred to the office. I had to complete all of the paperwork twice which was frustrating but I assume was not the doctor office fault. Not sure. Anyway, the visit went well and I had what I needed from medical services perspective.

If you're trans, nonbinary, or LGBT+ do not go here. If you're looking to get treatment for endometriosis do not go here. Dr. Arthur refused to help me for my intense pain I've been experiencing for around ten years because she does not want to treat trans people. There is also no where to state a preferred name or pronouns on the paperwork or patient portal (that I saw). Dr. Arthur referred to me as a "special case" because I take testosterone and asked if I "wanted to become male" which is incredibly degrading and dehumanizing. I was already nervous to go in because reproductive health doctors have a tendency to be transphobic so I was very disappointed that a medical professional could be so uneducated about hormone replacement therapy and transgender people. She also has no knowledge on endometriosis. I asked how invasive the diagnostic surgery is and she couldn't tell me. She told me I had to go to an endo specialist if I wanted help. Do not see this doctor!

I was anxious about seeing a new doctor, but by the time I left I felt so much better. Dr Arthur asked me lots of questions and listened to everything I said. She ordered some tests that seemed like the logical next steps and explained her plan to me. I definitely felt heard, which was really nice. The receptionist was knowledgeable and friendly as well.

This appointment was a complete waste of my time. I explained my concerns to the provider and felt dismissed rather than heard. I was also told lab results would be back within three days but I had to call the office to follow up myself 8 days after my appointment. I felt that the recommended course of treatment did not take into account the concerns I expressed during my appointment or my medical history. If you have also struggled with getting medical care providers to take your health concerns seriously, unfortunately your experience will not be different here. I would not recommend this provider or office.

I asked for a biopsy because I suspect I have lichen sclerosis. I have tried Diflucan, terconazole, boric acid, garlic, probiotic suppositories, and more. I also had negative yeast and BV and std tests from multiple providers within the past month. However none of this mattered to the doctor and she refused to do a biopsy and just tested me again for yeast and BV which came back negative again.

I decided to find a new doctor due to a bad experience with my previous one. I saw Dr. Arthur and she was kind and listened to all my health concerns. She immediately called me when my lab work returned with critical news. After that experience, I know I can trust her and any medical advice to help with my health goals this year.

Staff and doctor was very friendly. Forms that were filled out online did not transfer over so after I got there I had to spent 20 minutes completing them again. Sounds like this was not at the fault of the doctor.

I went today after booking the appointment on zocdoc , the front person Shaye wasn’t very friendly telling me at first that zocdoc is suppose to give them 48 hours notice . She wasn’t welcoming or friendly. I think for a doctors office you must be friendly . The dr ended up seeing me but didn’t even to a cervical screen or biopsy which was needed after my ultrasound. So it was a wasted appointment. I do not recommend this Dr .
