Getting to know Rebecca Blakesley

I specialize in diagnosing and treating clients with psychiatric conditions, providing medication management services for ADHD, mood disorders, PTSD, and anxiety. I am committed to addressing the impact of psychiatric conditions that can hinder an individual's quality of life and interpersonal functioning. I hold a Master's in Nursing from the University of Saint Joseph and a Bachelor's degree from Westfield State University.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I understand that reaching out for psychiatric care takes real courage and trust, and I carry that responsibility with great care. As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I've devoted my career to guiding individuals through mental health challenges with skilled medication management rooted in empathy, respect, and personalized attention. What sets my practice apart is my commitment to knowing you as a complete person. Behind every mental health challenge is an individual with their own story, relationships, everyday responsibilities, and aspirations. My approach centers on partnership and holistic care — while medication management is at the core of my work, I consider every aspect of your wellbeing, from physical health and daily habits to the life circumstances influencing your mental health. In our time together, you can expect thorough evaluations, transparent dialogue, and genuine collaboration. I prioritize explaining diagnoses and treatment options in clear, accessible language, answering your questions fully, and making sure you feel informed and comfortable with your care plan. I strongly believe in shared decision-making, where your input, concerns, and goals directly shape the direction we take. I'm equally dedicated to staying accessible and offering consistent support. Mental health recovery is seldom a straight path, and I'll be here to adjust medications when necessary, address side effects promptly, and acknowledge your progress along the way. I remain available between appointments as well, because questions and concerns don't always arise on a set schedule. My aim is for you to leave every session feeling heard, supported, and confident about the road ahead. Whether you're exploring treatment for the first time or have been navigating challenges for years, I meet you right where you are with compassion and warmth, building the trust that makes meaningful healing possible.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Quality psychiatric care begins with genuine listening. Your first session is comprehensive, typically lasting 60 minutes. We'll explore your presenting symptoms, their onset, what eases or intensifies them, and how they're affecting your daily functioning. I'll also review your personal background, family psychiatric history, prior treatments, current medications, and the support network you have around you. My assessment approach is thorough yet comfortable. I draw on evidence-based evaluation methods while maintaining a relaxed, conversational atmosphere — because feeling at ease makes it easier to share what matters most. Together we'll identify your treatment goals, whether that means managing anxiety, improving sleep, addressing depression, or something else entirely. Understanding what brought you in and what you're hoping to achieve sits at the center of everything we do. While medication management is my primary focus, I weave supportive therapeutic elements into every session. I help clients develop coping strategies, recognize their triggers, and better understand patterns in their thinking and behavior. When more intensive therapy would be beneficial, I work alongside counselors and can offer referrals. I also coordinate with your other healthcare providers when it strengthens your care — because integrated treatment consistently leads to better outcomes. Follow-up visits generally run 20 to 30 minutes and focus on evaluating your progress, discussing any side effects, and refining your treatment plan. My prescribing philosophy is measured — often starting at lower doses when appropriate and adjusting gradually over time. We'll openly review benefits and risks at every stage, and every question you have is welcome. Between sessions, I remain accessible for pressing concerns and prioritize continuity — with the overarching goal of helping you feel more like yourself, function better each day, and build lasting resilience.

Great services provided

Even though I filled out all paperwork 24 hours in advance of my appointment (I made the appointment 24 hours before since it was available on Zocdoc) no one contacted me with an email link to the session. I called the office and provider several times before and during my appointment time and no one answered. The appointment was at 8 am and at 2:30pm someone finally called me back and said they were ready to reschedule me. I asked what happened and they said no one looked at my paperwork in time for the appointment. Totally unprofessional. I did not reschedule a new appointment.

My appointment was cancelled, and I was given so someone else. When I went to reschedule, I was told I was not able to do so, because it was cancelled. No services were provided, and I am in a really bad space.

The scheduler does not know what they are doing. Received multiple emails to confirm appointments for different days and times that were previously set. Was sent links to websites to provide the same information that was given on different websites that were used to make the first appointment. Also they provided phone numbers to call in case you had questions but they do not respond to you. I had to cancel the last appointment because they changed the appointment time from 12 to 9 AM and told me they would charge me $200 if I canceled within 48 hours of the appointment. Funny thing is I canceled at 9:30 AM, but my original appointment was at 12 but the one they reassigned me to was at 9 AM. Also, after I canceled the appointment I received additional email reminding me of the upcoming appointment that I had already canceled. It’s been really strange from the beginning and now it’s ridiculous with the amount of miscommunication and rescheduling they do without your permission.

Rebecca was very nice, but when I needed my medication corrected for a refill, I called into the office and have received no response back. Also tried going through the portal to get in touch, but no luck. Besides the failure in communication, I would absolutely recommend Rebecca to anyone.

Rebecca is the perfect person to help me with my needs. She found a way to connect with me instantly and I honestly cannot wait to see her again! Highly recommend her!

She was a good listener and took her time with me. She didn't just prescribe meds and move on, she made sure I had a good support system, asked about my life, lifestyle, therapy, etc and got a good overall picture of what was going on. I also liked her conservative approach, starting on a low dose and seeing how I do before upping it. I also liked that she was open to some more natural stuff and not just pharmaceuticals. Really glad I found her and plan to follow up with her in the future.

Rebecca was very nice and understanding. She does not currently accept my insurance but I will continue to pay cash price to see her becauseI really liked her.

Rebecca is AMAZING! She has a way of encouraging an open dialogue with her patients and made me feel extremely comfortable and open during our first session. She has such a good energy, I would definitely recommend especially to anyone struggling with mental health!

Dr Blakesley is great. We went over some medication management and I learned new things about the medications I've been taking for a while. It felt comfortable and she really made an effort to understand my needs.
Verified patientVideo visit
Rebecca was very accommodating to my delay in completing forms, was very easy to talk to, listened well and shared her knowledge with me to make some med changes. Highly recommend her.
Verified patientVideo visit
Her office never responded to my request to refill a medication. I call, texted, and left messages. They called me today and said they would call in one hour to figure out what was going on. NEVER RECEIVED THE CALL. LEFT MESSAGES ON HER PORTAL. My husband id an MD and we had to beg a colleague to fill control medication. It's been a nightmare.
