Getting to know Rebecca Booker

Hello. My name is Rebecca Booker. I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a Master's degree in Family Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Walden University and a Bachelor's degree from The University of Texas at Arlington. I have over 22 years of experience in almost all areas of nursing, with the past 3 years focused in psychiatry. I am passionate about mental health because of first-hand experience within my circle of family and friends. My ultimate goal in my practice is to help my clients regain their quality of life and ease the suffering that mental health struggles cause. You are not alone in the struggle. I'd be honored to be a part of your journey toward restoration of peace, health, wholeness, and happiness. I am also able to provide care to the Spanish-speaking community. I prefer to involve my clients in deciding their plan of care. This is your life experience, so you should be included in deciding how your treatment goes. I value the time I spend getting to know my clients so that I can provide the best possible care for them. I operate in a warm, welcoming, and (when appropriate) humorous manner. Life is challenging, and asking for help is hard for many people. No one should have to struggle with mental health issues alone. I am here to help and am blessed to be able to do so!

What should a new client know about working with you?

I want my clients to know that they are not alone in their mental health journey. They are in a safe space with me, and I am so excited to travel the road to reclaiming their optimal quality of life, wellness, and happiness.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During our first encounter, I gather information that will guide me in making the best possible decisions for our plan of care. My client is encouraged to participate in those decisions. I will continue to learn about my client while exploring various treatment options. I also offer talk therapy because I understand that it helps get to the root of the problem. Sometimes we just need to be heard, and I am here to listen.
