About Dr. Rebecca Chen
Rebecca Chen, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist specializing in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She believes in a personalized approach to dermatology, using a combination of evidence-based care and refined techniques to help her patients feel both confident and comfortable in their skin.
A Bay Area native, Dr. Chen attended the University of California, Berkeley, where she graduated summa cum laude with a dual-degree in Molecular & Cell Biology and Economics. When she graduated from Weill Cornell Medical College, she graduated with Honors in Research for her work studying indoor tanning and social media in dermatology at Stanford University. After completing a medical internship at Mount Sinai, she completed her dermatologic training at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, NY. Having presented her research at numerous national conferences, Dr. Chen remains an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
In her free time, she enjoys baking, traveling, and trying new restaurants.

The doctor seemed distracted and disinterested. She spoke in a condescending manner. Even after explaining my skin concerns and asking for treatment options, she dismissed the concerns. It looked like the doctor’s office does not want to take me as patient. Maybe they want patients who would only get complicated treatments so they have recurring patient visits.

Appointment felt super rushed. She didn’t even ask for patient history, she immediately recommended things without asking any questions.
