About Rebecca Wooddell
Rebecca earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders, with a minor in Psychology, and her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from West Virginia University. She enjoys working with toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children and supporting families as active partners in their child’s communication journey. Rebecca has experience evaluating and treating “late talkers”, children with articulation and phonological disorders, Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), developmental language delays and challenges, social/pragmatic communication differences, and autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
Rebecca completes comprehensive evaluations using standardized and informal assessments to understand each child’s unique strengths and needs. She provides individualized, evidence-based therapy using play-based and motor-based approaches, including Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC) for children with CAS. Her sessions focus on functional communication skills that support success at home, in school, and in everyday interactions.
Rebecca values strong collaboration with caregivers and provides coaching and education to help families feel confident supporting communication growth outside of therapy. Her goal is to create a supportive, engaging environment where children feel encouraged, capable, and proud of their progress. Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
