Hughes, MD, MPH, FAAFP-is a board-certified Family Medicine Physician and Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians with over 25 years experience specializing in the comprehensive medical care for people of all ages. Dr. Hughes also holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) and, in addition to diagnosing and treating illnesses, he focuses on preventive care with routine checkups, tests and personalized coaching on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Dr. Hughes hails from Birmingham, Alabama and is a retired Lieutenant Colonel of the U. S. Army Reserve Medical Corps with multiple deployments to Iraq, El Salvador and Germany to name a few. Dr. Hughes has a special interest in Africa and heads a non-governmental organization, The African Cultural Exchange, which focuses on cross-cultural, developmental, educational and health care projects in Africa.
