What should a new client know about working with you?

When explaining my style and therapy approach to patients, I emphasize a warm, collaborative, open environment where trust and rapport are fundamental. I adopt a client-centered approach, tailoring our sessions to meet individual needs and preferences. I integrate evidence-based techniques, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to address thought patterns and mindfulness strategies to enhance present-moment awareness. In our sessions, expect active listening, empathetic understanding, and a focus on empowering you to develop effective coping mechanisms and reach your personal goals. I aim to support and guide you toward improved well-being and resilience.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical session is designed to be supportive and individualized, focusing on your unique needs and treatment goals. Here's what you might expect: Check-In and Updates: We'll start by discussing how you've been since our last session. This includes any changes in symptoms, stressors, or successes you've experienced. Review and Adjust Treatment Plans: We'll review any current medications you may be on, discuss side effects, and make adjustments as necessary. This is also an opportunity to discuss any lab results or follow-up on prior recommendations. Therapeutic Conversation: This part of the session involves exploring your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We use therapeutic techniques tailored to your needs, like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or mindfulness practices, to address current challenges. Goal Setting: Together, we'll set short-term and long-term goals, focusing on achievable steps that can enhance your mental health and quality of life. Education and Support: Providing you with information about your condition, treatment options, and strategies for managing symptoms is crucial. I also offer resources and support for coping with daily challenges. Wrap-Up and Next Steps: We'll conclude the session by summarizing what we've covered and identifying any homework or strategies to practice until our next meeting. Throughout, I aim to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel comfortable sharing and working on your mental health journey.

I was very comfortable with this provider and look forward to working with her.

Cruel. She pressed for personal information before categorically denying needed medication. She also did not speak the truth, inventing a rule that didn’t exist. A benzophobe. Also, despite my saying specifically I was in no danger, she sent the cops to my door because I disconnected our call my choice given her cruel attitude

They completely wasted my time because they do not have it listed on their website that they do not provide benzos. How can you be a mental health care provider? And not provide mental healthcare medications? It screams.I care more about my license than anything else on this planet, including my client's lives.

I have been trying to get a screening done to see if I'm autistic. She declined to do the screening because of some overlapping things I've already been diagnosed with. Ideally, I would've liked to at least have the screening, just for my own peace of mind but I understand where she was coming from. What really upset me, and why I would not recommend her, was that, completely unprompted, she kept circling around to my weight. Maybe I was socially anxious because I'm overweight, and have I tried Wellbutrin? It's good for weight loss. It didn't sit right with me.
