Dietitian
MI
Renee is not here to yuck your yum. As a nutrition professional who has lived in every region of the US and worked with diverse students, patients, and clients, she knows that culture and our social environments influence our eating habits in very personal ways. She is passionate about helping people reach their nutrition and health goals through practical and actionable steps that take into account all the facets of their complex lives. And she will never tell you to cut out your cultural foods! Renee's interest in nutrition started when living on an island in Maine. She had almost no background in cooking but became so enamored with seasonal produce and local foods that she decided to go back to school to train to become a registered dietitian. She graduated with a bachelor's degree, completed an internship in dietetics, and earned a master's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of New Mexico. Her training in Medical Nutrition Therapy and Culinary Nutrition supports clients with a variety of conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, and chronic disease prevention. Renee also has a passion for plant-based and plant-forward diets and can help guide clients toward balanced and satisfying plant-based meals that don't sacrifice flavor. She practices with a practical and collaborative approach and believes that food should be enjoyable and nourishing. Renee enjoys spending time with her two terrier mix dogs, hiking, photography, reading, traveling, and generally being in nature around plants and birds.
