Hi, I’m Renette Casseus-Dametas, a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with over a decade of experience providing compassionate, culturally competent care to adolescents and adults. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, trauma-related concerns, and mood disorders, with a strong emphasis on building trust and helping clients thrive in their natural environments. I currently offer virtual psychiatric evaluations and medication management for clients across New York. My treatment approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and grounded in both evidence-based practice and cultural sensitivity. Please note: I do not prescribe controlled substances or stimulants. I currently serve clients ages 13 and up. All services are provided via secure telehealth. I look forward to helping you feel more grounded, empowered, and supported on your mental health journey.

My approach is patient-centered, which means I take the time to truly listen and understand not only your symptoms, but also your story, background and values. I believe mental health care works best when its partnership. together, we`ll set realistic goals and explore treatment options that fit your needs and lifestyle. I use a combination of evidence-based psychiatric care, supportive therapy, and holistic strategies to help you feel better and function at your best. Because cultural background and personal experiences play an important role in mental health, I make it a priority to provide culturally sensitive care that respects your identity and lived experiences. Our first visit will focus on getting to know you - your concerns, strengths, and what you hope to gain from treatment. From there, we`ll create a plan that feels supportive, practical, and empowering.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session, we`ll focus on understanding your story, concerns, and goals. From there, we`ll create a personalized treatment plan that may include therapy strategies, lifestyle approaches, and, when appropriate, safe medication options. Follow-up sessions are collaborative and flexible we`ll check progress, make adjustments, and ensure your care feels supportive, practical, and tailored to your needs.
