About Dr. Rex Moss

Dr. Moss grew up in the Dallas Metroplex. After graduating from Baylor University, he went to The University of Texas Health Science Center- Houston for Medical School. For internship and residency, he joined Methodist Dallas Medical Center's Internal Medicine Program and became Board-Certified in Internal Medicine. He set up an office and hospital based practice in DeSoto in 1998.
As changes in how the medical system became implemented, it became increasingly difficult to do an excellent job both in the hospital and office at the same time, so in 2000 Dr. Moss decided to shift to a solely hospital-based practice. In 2003 an opportunity arose for him to start and run a hospital medicine program in Connecticut where he helped take care of acutely ill people and worked to maintain patient safety in hospitals for 9 years. He was also privileged to teach residents and was named the “Attending of the Year” in 2006 and as a “Master Teacher” in subsequent years.
Recently, he and his wife desired to return to Texas to be near family. An opportunity arose to join the Harvill-Tschumy Clinic, where he could practice medicine as Christian, in keeping with Micah 6:8. He is now able to shift his focus on preventing major illnesses, managing chronic illness, and interacting with his patients over a prolonged period of time, rather than just reacting to illnesses as he had done in the hospital.
Dr Moss feels greatly blessed to have this opportunity to work as a part of the Harvill-Tschumy Clinic.
