What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with me feels like being heard and understood from the very first session. I listen deeply without judgment and prioritize your comfort, pace, and personal goals. My approach is collaborative and trauma-informed, meaning we make decisions together based on what matters most to you and what’s working (or not) in your life. I integrate therapy-informed strategies alongside thoughtful medication management, helping you develop practical skills (like improving routines, managing distress, and strengthening emotional regulation) while addressing symptoms in real-world ways. My focus is on hope, resilience, and lasting mental wellness — not just quick fixes. You can expect care that honors your identity, background, and whole-person experience in a respectful, inclusive environment.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

First Session — Listening & Clarity Our initial visit is about understanding you: your history, current concerns, strengths, and what you hope to change. We clarify your goals and begin building a treatment plan together. Collaborative Planning I blend evidence-based methods with practical insights tailored to your day-to-day life. Whether that looks like skill-building strategies, targeted therapy tools, or thoughtful medication discussions, we choose what best fits your needs. Skill Development & Support Ongoing sessions mix support with growth — helping you manage stress, improve sleep and routines, strengthen relationships, and build confidence. We track progress together and adjust the path as needed. Ongoing Partnership You remain in the driver’s seat. I’ll guide, educate, and support you — but your lived experience and wisdom about your life always matter most in decisions.

  • Files your insurance claim: You pay the session fee upfront and the provider files the claim for you, so you can get reimbursed directly without worrying about the paperwork
  • Charges post-reimbursement amount: This provider will only charge you for the amount you pay after you get reimbursed from your insurance plan, so you don’t need to pay the session fee upfront

More information on payments and coverage

I believe mental health care should feel clear, fair, and stress-free, including when it comes to insurance and payments. I work with a variety of major insurance plans, and coverage can vary based on your specific policy, deductible, and benefits. Before your first appointment, my office will verify your insurance whenever possible so you have a better idea of what to expect regarding copays or out-of-pocket costs. If you’re using insurance, claims are submitted on your behalf after each visit. Any copays, coinsurance, or balances not covered by insurance are processed securely using the payment method you keep on file. For clients who prefer not to use insurance, self-pay options are available with transparent, upfront pricing. This can be a great option for those seeking flexibility, privacy, or predictable costs. If financial concerns come up, I encourage you to reach out — I’m always happy to talk through options, answer questions, and help you understand your benefits so there are no surprises. My goal is for you to focus on your care, not the paperwork.
