He provides general neurosurgical care including treatment of common spinal disorders, brain and spine trauma, and other conditions. Dr. Murray was born in Arizona, USA and raised in South Africa, where he obtained a medical degree from the University of Stellenbosch. He began his post-graduate medical training as a registrar in South Africa, and upon his return to the U.S., completed his neurosurgery residency at the University of Vermont. Dr. Murray pursued extensive subspecialty fellowship training in skull base and micro-neurosurgery at Louisiana State University under the guidance of Dr. Anil Nanda, MD and endoscopic brain and skull base surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City under the guidance of Dr. Theodore Schwartz, MD. Dr. Murray serves as Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, VA.
