You’ve thought about making a change, but something keeps holding you back. Maybe it’s the relentless hum of anxiety, the weight of perfectionism, the fog of depression, or the discomfort of uncertainty. You find yourself avoiding situations, second-guessing decisions, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. You want things to be different, but knowing where to start is another challenge altogether. At A Better Understanding, I specialize in providing individual therapy to teens and adults that present with a variety of anxiety concerns, depression, and trauma. I also work with those seeking services for interpersonal problems, problems with adjustment and transitions, and personal growth.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I approach treatment primarily from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy perspective. We'll take a few sessions to assess your concerns and determine if we're a good fit for each other. If we decide to work together, we will develop a treatment plan to help you live the life you want to live. During treatment, we will figure out ways to look at and do things differently so that you can feel differently. Our work will always be a collaborative journey. Your input is always valued, and you will be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.
